THANKSGIVING RECIPE ROUNDUP
I was born on Thanksgiving. A life-long vegetarian born on the high-holy turkey day. Ironic, no?
Because it was frequently the day we celebrated my birthday, my mom always appeased me by making mac and cheese. I hated everything else. Like WHY cranberries?
Regardless, I loved the holiday.
It’s like Christmas, with less distraction. More opportunity for quality time. It’s a day of reflection. A day to be thankful. If you follow along here, you know that’s a daily practice for me. Even as a young human I was drawn to this act of thanks giving.
After 30+ years of the same family thanksgiving tradition, life changed last year. Those memories will always shape me. Last year my mom and I cooked for the first time. Mixing it up again, I’m attaching myself to a new family’s Thanksgiving tradition and (gasp) not cooking ANYTHING.
I (officially) consider myself an adult, as I have a real list of Thanksgiving recipes that I've made even more than a few times. Are you cooking this year?

Turkey. I don’t cook this.
VERY creamy mashed potatoes.
Vegetarian stuffing.
The biscuits.
Apple pie. This crust has really proven itself to me.
Still looking for a way to use those cranberries. Any suggestions?

An old recipe that I think is better than anything else I’ve found on the internet. As easy (and basic) as it gets.
